Stone Run, north of Mount Kent, East Falkland, Falkland Islands
Stone runs are also called stone streams, stone rivers and stone seas. They are a geological feature dating from the last ice age when recurrent periglacial phases of freezing and thawing caused the erosion of certain types of rock. Five processes were involved: weathering, solifluction, frost heaving, frost sorting, and washing.
