9th Century decorated cross shaft, Church of St Michael & All Angels, Addingham, Glassonby, Cumbria, England
The original Anglo-Saxon settlement was washed away in the 12th Century when the River Eden changed its course. This cross shaft was recovered from the river in 1913 when a period of drought lowered the water level sufficiently.
