Hood Racer (Philodryas hoodensis), Punta Suarez, Espanola, Galapagos
The Hood Racer is a slender constrictor, eating lava lizards, invertebrates, young iguanas, rats, mice, and the nestlings of birds. It is the only snake found on Espanola and is endemic there (that is, found nowhere else).
