Spotted Shags (Blue Shags) (Stictocarbo punctatus) nesting on a cliff, Stewart/Rakiura & Ulva Islands, South Island, New Zealand
Birds breeding on the West Coast and around Stewart Island are known as Blue Shags and have been placed in a distinct subspecies oliveri. This may not be justified.
Maori name is Kawau tikitiki. Endemic to New Zealand.
