The Bullfinch seen in Britain is Pyrrhula pyrrhula ssp pileata.
This bird has an unsightly disease of its legs and feet - either Papillomatosis (caused by the Chaffinch Papilloma Virus) or Cnemidocoptosis (Mange or Scaly Foot, caused by Cnemidocoptes jamaicensis mites). Both diseases can look the same.
