Welcome to my Covid-19 gallery! I should have been photographing bears in Slovenia during the first period of lockdown in 2020 but instead took the opportunity to photograph birds coming into my garden, and in particular to my garden pond. This proved to be something of a surprise, with several unexpected visitors and several common species that failed to put in an appearance. Where, I wonder, were these drinking and bathing? I had lived in this house for fourteen years, so spending some effort on photographing the native wildlife here was rather overdue. I posted one species a day for three weeks on my Facebook page (@MartinGracePhotography) until I ran out of new species. After that I carried on photographing and adding new images of species already covered and new species when they turned up too. When the first lockdown ended I stopped too. All these images can also be seen in the United Kingdom Birds galleries.
