Phew! 3 weeks back from 6 weeks in New Zealand, and the jet lag has just about worn off, though not the exhaustion. The Land of the Long Thin Cloud did not live up to its billing: the cloud was very thick and much too dense to hang on to its raindrops. It was a wet time, on the whole, but at least I didn't often have high contrast and strong shadows to contend with! I've just finished the Fiordland Crested Penguin gallery today, first by special request. So do have a look at the images I've captured of the world's 3rd rarest penguin, sadly declining still despite efforts to save it. Lots more images to come over the next couple of months, including nearly 100 bird species or subspecies, many of them endemic to NZ. Register on the site if you wish to be informed when significant additions are made to the library.
