We are told that meteorological autumn starts on September 1, but for me the traditional September 21 still seems the best marker for the start of the fall of the year. With traditional autumn starting tomorrow here is my local Roe buck wonderfully semi-silhouetted by early morning sunlight in a meadow of gone-over Black Knapweed and mist-laden spiders' webs.
