Male Moroccan Orange-Tip butterfly (Anthocharis belia) photographed flying round a female that is ready to mate and pumping out pheromones, Parc Natural dels Ports, Catalunya, Spain
Note how the female has arched her abdomen upwards to release pheromones, either to attract a male or to tell him that she has already been mated. This male fluttered round her for about a minute and then flew on.
