The Garganta del Chorro (or Desfiladero de los Gaitanes) is a 7 kilometre long gorge carved by the Rio Guadalhorce through limestone up to a depth of 400 metres. A terrifying walkway called the Caminito del Rey (little path of the King) was constructed to allow access to a hydroelectric plant, and was so named after an official visit by King Alfonso XIII in 1921. It has largely fallen into disrepair, but some of the remains can be seen half way up the right side of the image.
