Known as Mohua in Maori, the Yellowhead is an endangered New Zealand South Island endemic species, one of three New Zealand Creepers. The Whitehead (Mohoua albicilla) is its North Island counterpart. Their distributions do not overlap (known as allopatric or sympatric).
