Crater of Rano Kau extinct volcano, Easter Island (Rapa Nui)
The caldera of long-extinct Rano Kau volcano contains floating rafts of peat covered by Totora Reed (Scirpus californicus). Pollen analysis has shown that the reed has been present in the crater for at least 30,000 years.
